This episode was grouped by character rather than discount. But laid out together, “cozy” points at three different things here — and buying without knowing which is which leads to a mismatch.

Truly idle / management / secretly hard

Truly idle is only Rusty’s Retirement. It clings to the bottom of your screen and grows while you do something else — exactly right if you can’t set aside dedicated gaming time.

Management covers Travellers Rest and Hello Kitty Island Adventure. They need your hands constantly, but nothing fails and nothing rushes you, which is closest to what people usually mean by cozy.

Secretly hard covers two. Against the Storm is a roguelite that wipes your settlement when a run ends, and Kingdom Two Crowns changes character once night falls. Both will surprise anyone who came for calm.

What works alone, and what doesn’t

We Were Here Together is two-player only. You’re locked in separate rooms passing information by radio — you cannot start it solo.

Super Bunny Man and Core Keeper work alone but are better co-op. Core Keeper in particular supports up to eight, so the experience shifts a lot with group size.

It’s a cozy list, but check the subject matter

Crime Scene Cleaner has you cleaning a room after a shootout. The controls are calm; the subject isn’t. Don’t add it based on the list’s overall mood.

Most of these are indies, which discount more often but less deeply than blockbusters — the 50–80% band tends to return every few months. There’s little reason to pay full price in a hurry, so check the price record on the game page first.
