This is a week worth buying into
The short answer: yes, buy. Eight of the ten above sit under ₩10,000, and five of those don’t even reach ₩5,000.
But this isn’t blockbusters getting cheap — it’s Devolver Digital’s whole catalogue coming down at once. If you were waiting on a big new release to be cut, this week doesn’t apply to you. If you’re filling a library with short, solidly built games, this is exactly the week for it.
Three of these are card games, and you’d buy each for a different reason
Slay the Spire, Inscryption and Loop Hero all landed in the same list. All three involve cards; none of them overlap.
Slay the Spire is the one where you repeat the same ruleset hundreds of times and get better at it. The fact that a user who wrote “tried it briefly, it’s decent enough” has 872 hours logged tells you everything about its shape.
Inscryption is closer to a single experience. Every act rewrites the game, so surprise is the point — which means a second run doesn’t carry the weight of the first.
Loop Hero has you playing cards, but the fighting is automatic. You win by placement, not by hands, which makes it a fundamentally different activity from the other two.
If you want one game to sink into, take Slay the Spire. If you want to finish one story over a weekend, take Inscryption.
They also split by how busy your hands get
Similar prices, very different demands. Enter the Gungeon and My Friend Pedro only pay off if your hands keep up. Death’s Door asks you to read patterns more than to react. Loop Hero and Unpacking barely occupy your hands at all.
If you haven’t played anything in a while, start from the back of that list. If you specifically want something punishing, the first two are where it lives.
You don’t need anyone else this week
Every game here is a solo game. Not one of them is built on co-op or online play, which makes this a week with no schedules to coordinate. Enter the Gungeon does have multiplayer, but it’s two people sharing one screen — not the same thing as playing together online.
Sale lists usually carry two or three co-op titles, so this episode is unusually clear-cut on that front.
What to buy now, and what can wait
Devolver titles go on sale often. What isn’t common is the entire line dropping to 70–80% simultaneously. If you’re only after one specific game, a 50–60% cut will come around sooner.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, by contrast, won’t get cheaper by waiting. Nintendo’s own titles discount shallowly and late. That said, it isn’t out yet and has no user reviews — so waiting for launch because the information is thin, rather than because of price, is a reasonable call.
Before you buy
End dates split between September 9th and 10th. Each card carries its own, so check before adding to your cart.
Also, the price records on this site’s game pages are Steam-based and can differ from the eShop. Buying on Switch? Use the eShop prices on the cards above. Buying on PC? Use the Steam record on the game page. All prices are as of the time the video was made.
