Steam weekly sale: Hogwarts Legacy at ₩7,980, Palworld at ₩22,400

The picks worth your money from the last week of August on Steam. Warner, Rockstar and Capcom all went on sale at once, so the big titles came down together. A wizarding-school open world that used to run close to ₩80,000 is cut by 90 percent, and Palworld — which left Early Access in July — went on sale barely two months after its 1.0 launch. There's also an Amazon jungle survival trip for less than half a coffee, and a Korean open world that flipped its reception with one huge update six months in. Plus next week's vampire RPG and a Viking survival game finally hitting 1.0 after five years. Prices and end dates are listed below.

Three online games — without people, drop three of these

This is an archive of the Steam sale from the final week of August 2026. The discounts have ended and the prices above are from that time.

Warner, Rockstar and Capcom all entered sales at once, pulling blockbuster prices down together. But the first thing to check in this list isn’t price — it’s whether you can play alone.

Three that need people, all in different ways

Among Us runs on talking. Conversation, not skill, is the actual content, so the gap between playing with friends and with strangers is the widest here.

Dead by Daylight is asymmetric. The one killer and the four survivors do completely different things, so which side you play essentially decides which game you bought.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is four-player co-op pushing forward as a unit, alternating melee and gunfire, which splits the team into roles.

Two survival-crafting games with opposite difficulty

Green Hell makes you manage not just hunger and thirst but wound infections and parasites. A heavy load if survival is new to you.

Palworld does the opposite — your Pals do the work. Park them in a base factory and things run themselves, so it’s a survival game with far lower management burden.

New to the genre? Start with Palworld.

One that isn’t the same game it was

Crimson Desert Enhanced is a major update released six months after launch, substantially reworking the main story and cutscenes. If you remember its reception at release, the game has changed considerably — judge it by recent reviews.

Similarly, Palworld was in its first sale after finishing more than two years of early access in July.

If you’re looking at this now

Titles a few years old — Hogwarts Legacy, Dead Island 2, Darktide — return at similar depths every major sale. Crimson Desert Enhanced and Palworld are more recent, so deeper cuts take longer.

The Blood of Dawnwalker and Valheim at the bottom were upcoming releases, not discounts. Both arrived in September, so reviews are available now.
